1400+ Rowers Coached to Lifetime Bests

Your rowing is limited by one thing
Let's fix it

For rowers who train consistently but aren't getting faster the way they should.

The Performance X-Ray identifies the single biggest limiter to your performance, then builds a personalised five-week training intervention around fixing it.

You are already doing the work.  This makes sure the work is aimed at the right thing

USD $697 one-off. No fee to apply, if you're not a good fit, you won't pay a cent.

Sound familiar?

You're doing the hard work, but you're not sure if you're doing the right work

If any of these sound like you, keep reading

"I train five or six days a week and my 2k has barely moved in a year."

"I've been told I need more base. Another coach says I need more speed work. I've stopped knowing who to believe."

"I finish training not knowing what the purpose of the session was"

"I've rebuilt my program three times this season and I'm still not confident any version was right."

"I'm not afraid of hard work, but I am afraid of wasting it"

If you nodded at two or more of those, the issue almost certainly isn't your effort. It's that you don't know which quality is actually holding you back... so every training decision is a guess.

Why you're stuck

More training isn't the answer and probably isn't an option...

The right training is

You've probably already tried some of these

Copying an elite program

Elite programs are built for elite physiology, elite recovery capacity, and 20-30 training hours per week. So if you train 20-30 hours per week, this can definitely work.  But if you can't, it doesn't.

Adding more volume

Volume works brilliantly, if you have the time to add it consistently (not just for a week or two) and if aerobic capacity is your limiter. If you can't you're other not adding enough to be meaningful, or you're adding an extra 10 training hours every week working on the wrong thing for you.

Adding more hard intervals

Same logic. Speed work fixes a speed problem, but it doesn't fix an aerobic base that's too small.  And second, you can only consistently handle 1-3 hard sessions in a week (closer to the lower end for most rowers) and be able to constantly do them with enough quality.

Technique drills from Instagram

Some of them are great. But a great drill chosen at random fixes a fault at random. If technique isn't your biggest issue, you can get more efficient and more skilful without meaningfully impacting your speed.

Working with a coach who started with a program

There are lots of good coaches, but most coaching starts with a plan, not a person. But if nobody first worked out what's limiting you, the plan is a template with your name on it.

None of these methods are wrong. They just all start with a solution before anyone has identified the problem. Train the wrong quality and you can work extremely hard and still improve slower than you should.

You don't need a "better" program.  You need a diagnosis first, then a program.

The Method

Diagnose first, then train.  In that order

1

Every rower has a bottleneck. We find yours.

Aerobic capacity, threshold, peak power, speed endurance, technique, race execution, training structure - one of these is currently costing you more speed than everything else combined. The Performance X-Ray analyses your testing data, training history, goals, constraints and rowing context to identify which one, without guessing or making generic assumptions about "rowers your age" or "rowers at your level."

"I spent the last three years adding more and more volume trying to break 6:30 minutes, and eight weeks in I've gone from 6:30 to 6:18 focusing on peak power training."

- Rob (54), Australia

2

We build you a custom plan to fix it

Once the limiter is identified, you get a five-week training intervention written from scratch, for your body, your schedule, your equipment and your goals. It can replace your current program or slot around your club commitments, without interfering with your existing training. Every session exists for a reason, and you'll know what that reason is.

3

Retest and review

At the end of the five weeks you retest and review. You'll see what changed, understand why, and get a clear recommendation for what to do next. No vague "keep at it". An actual answer.

"I'm still kind of in shock that this was even possible. I guess anything is possible when you actually train the right things."

- Charlotte (41), UK

The Performance X-Ray

What you get

01

The Performance X-Ray diagnostic

A full analysis of your performance testing, training history, current program, strengths, weaknesses and constraints resulting in a clear, plain-English identification of your biggest limiter. Most athletes say this alone changes how they see their training.

02

A personalised five-week training intervention

Written from scratch around fixing your limiter. Not a template. Not a tweaked version of someone else's plan. Built to work with your real life: job, family, club sessions and all.

03

Coaching support throughout the five weeks

Feedback on sessions, adjustments when life happens, and answers when you're unsure. You're not handed a PDF and wished luck.

04

Retest, review and roadmap

A structured retest at the end, an honest review of what changed, and a clear recommendation for your next block, whether or not that involves TopCrew.

Are you ready to stop guessing?

USD $697. Application takes about 5 minutes

No Surprises

What happens when you apply

Step 1 - Apply

A short application about your rowing, your training and your goals. About five minutes. No payment at this stage.

Step 2 - We Talk

If it looks like a good fit, you'll be invited to a short call to confirm the Performance X-Ray is right for where you're at.

If it isn't, I'll tell you.

I'd rather turn you away than take money for something that won't help you.

Step 3 - The X-Ray Begins

Once you enrol, the diagnostic starts immediately, and your five-week intervention follows.

Applying commits you to nothing. It starts a conversation.

Why listen to me

I've worked with over 1400 rowers. Here's the pattern I couldn't ignore

20 years coaching rowing and 13 years as an Exercise Scientist

More than 6000 individual training programs written

500+ rowers coached to lifetime bests since 2024

Across all of that, one pattern kept repeating: the athletes who improved consistently weren't "just training harder" than every one else. They were the ones whose training aligned with the areas that needed the most work.

Most rowers don't need extra sessions. They need to know what's actually holding them back. Get that right and everything else, like the effort and the consistency they already bring, finally starts paying off.

The Performance X-Ray is the name I've given to the diagnostic process I've been running with athletes for years. The name is new. The process isn't.

A personalised five-week training intervention, written from scratch

Coaching support, feedback and plan adjustments throughout

End-of-block retest, review and clear next-step roadmap

No subscription, no upsell required to get the result.

What happens after the five weeks is entirely up to you.

THE GUARANTEE

If I can't find something worth fixing, you get your money back

Here's the deal: you complete the Performance X-Ray diagnostic.

If, after analysing your data, I don't believe I can identify a meaningful opportunity to improve your rowing, I'll tell you honestly and refund you in full, before the five-week intervention begins.

You're not betting $697 on a promise.

You're betting it on a diagnosis, and if the diagnosis finds nothing worth acting on, the bet is off.

In nearly 20 years and 6,000+ programs, athletes with no identifiable limiter have been rare.

But the guarantee exists so the risk of that sits with me, not you.

Your next five weeks are happening either way. The only question is whether they're aimed at the right thing.
